Crafting creative events to celebrate your weird.

Wedding planning and coordination for Denver, Fort Collins, the Colorado Front Range, and beyond.

hi i’m jessica

Growing up, I thought of myself as a lot of different things – a tomboy, a nerd, a geek, an athlete, a scholar. It took a while, but I eventually realized I was all these things and more. I didn’t have to fit one “label” and that was actually a good thing.

Better yet, I realized all these “labels” had something in common. They were signs that I passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic about something that I truly cared about. To this day, I continue to tackle everything in my life in the same way. No matter if it’s my favorite fandom or your big day, you’ll see passion, dedication, and enthusiasm from me.

I built Yeti or Knot on this same foundation. Everyone deserves to have someone in their corner on their wedding day with unwavering enthusiasm, heartfelt dedication, and unlimited passion. I’d love to be that person for you.

Why Yeti or Knot?

I don’t believe in one size fits all wedding planning.

What works for one couple might not work for you – and that’s okay! Wedding trends are fun, but only if they truly resonate with you.

And wedding traditions? It’s your day. I’ll help you pick and choose what feels right and ignore the rest. And yes, ignoring them all is an option too! Some of my favorite traditions are ones my couples or their families created themselves – from sharing vows on a handmade rug to a full 8.5 minute “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” dance battle.

I get to know each and every couple I work with.

I believe that incorporating custom, unique, and special aspects in your big day is what helps make it unforgettable. The best part? This can be done at any budget and any scale, and I’ll show you how.

The word “weird” often comes with a negative connotation, but I don’t believe that for a second. What makes you weird, makes you special. It’s what brings you together and makes your relationship strong.

I don’t take no for an answer. If you have a dream for your event, I’ll help make it happen. Budgets, time, and resources can limit event details, but they don’t have to make things impossible.

For as long as I can remember, I have always thrived in the presence of chaos. I can problem solve, pivot with sudden plan change, and make a quick decision with a real smile on my face.

I come from a long line of engineers and proudly hold an engineering degree from Cornell University. While I don’t use as much math as I thought I would, I do know how to solve unique problems quickly.

My love of crafting and all things DIY has taught me how to create with my hands, my resources, and the tools at my fingertips.

And my questions have follow up questions. I warn all my clients that by the end of the process, you probably won’t want to answer another question. But I also firmly believe that an okay answer is “I don’t care” or “you decide”. If you want to pick every detail, I’ll help you do it. But if you’d rather focus on what you care about, I’ll make sure none of the other details fall through the cracks.

I mean everyone.

Everyone deserves love and to have that love celebrated.

That’s why I do what I do.

As I’m writing this, I’m struggling to find the right words because to me it’s really inclusivity or nothing.

I hold any vendor or venue I partner with to the same expectations.

I’m constantly learning and striving to grow.

I want to learn about you and your relationship. I want to know what you love and what brought you together.

I want to learn about new venues, unique vendors, important traditions, fun trends, and anything that will help make your day the best day ever.

My first priority is to ensure your big day goes off without a hitch. But my second priority is to make sure you enjoy the planning process.

Whether it’s sharing tidbits from my encyclopedia of knowledge to help you make the best decisions or telling you stories that make you laugh, I’ll be there.

Got a question? Cool. I have an answer.

All my clients can reach out whenever they want via email or text message. I strive for under 24 hour turn around for texts and under 48 hours for email.

Phone calls and meetings can be added on to any contract.

The Booking Process

If I’ve learned anything in my years of experience as a wedding planner and project manager, it’s appreciation for a good process. And that includes my booking process!

Over the past several years, I’ve ironed out a process that allows potential clients – like you – to get their questions answered, get comfortable with the wedding planning process, and get to know me in an simple and efficient way.

As soon as you’re ready to start your wedding planning process, I’m ready to connect!

Reach out by submitting an inquiry with some basic information about your current wedding plans. I’ll follow up shortly with my Calendly booking link to set up a video call at a time that best fits your schedule.

This initial call allows us both to get to know each other. It’s important that all of my clients connect with me and vice versa. We’ll talk business, but we’ll also talk about hobbies, fandoms, and passions. I want to know what makes each of you tick and what you enjoy doing together as a couple.

All you need to do is come prepared to chat about your best day ever and bring any and all questions.

When it comes to wedding planning services, I’ll ask about what help you want, what plans you’ve made so far, what’s most important to you, and your overall big day vision to best determine how I can help.

Shortly after our call (usually within 48 hours), I’ll follow up with a custom proposal or two specifically designed for you and your event based on the conversation that we had. While my proposals are built on a foundation of basic services needed for any successful event, each one is carefully curated by me.

I’m a firm believer in only including services that you NEED. You won’t find any filler line items that would take my focus away from the tasks that really matter or your funds away from making your big day unique and special.

In fact, if there are any services you’re on the fence about, I’ll encourage you to wait on them. You can always add services later on!

As you review your proposal, you can send me as many follow up questions via email as you’d like. And for full transparency, your proposal will come with a copy of my contract, so you can read all the terms before saying yes.

Once we’ve finalized your list of services and you give me the OK, it’s contract time!

I utilize the electronic signature tool Xodo Sign for all my contracts, so you’ll get an email from them to submit your e-signature within 7 days. Your booking fee (amount varies) is also due at this time.

Did we just become best friends?

Once you’re signed contract and booking fee have been received, you’re officially booked! This means you’re on my calendar and I’m ready to get to work.

I also never double book, so I won’t book another event that conflicts with yours.

Once you’re booked, you’ll get a confirmation email from me, countersigned contract, and booking fee receipt. I’ll also send you a quick survey that will help me get to know you and your love story even better.

You’ll gain access to your client portal which contains helpful wedding planning tips, my list of recommended vendors, and more. This also acts as a shared space for us to work on your event together!

What happens next steps will depend on the services that you book, which you can learn more here.

Are you ready to craft your perfect wedding?

No matter where you are in your planning process, I can’t wait to connect with you.

I’m ready to start working with you on your vision and I can’t wait to help find creative ways to celebrate your love, your relationship, and maybe a fandom or two.
